Gense Imaging is a medical imaging device capable of generating cross-sectional images, waveforms, and indicators, which can serve as an affordable medical diagnostic screening tool for patients.
The device comes along a flexible band with an array of electrodes that wrap around the patients' chest. Among other features, the built-in screen can display real-time coss-sectional images.
Despite lung imaging currently being their primary focus, in the long term, their technology will diagnose multiple parts of our bodies, from ankles, knees, or wrists, ideal for people recovering from injuries or to unintrusively evaluate degradation of any tissue or tendons in our body.
Gense imaging is a device designed for doctors in primary care and hospital setups.
To deliver a versatile design adapted to the doctor's user-flow and environment, we designed a device that can be used in two different positions, adapting to each doctor's needs.
With simplicity in mind, we carefully crafted an easy-to-navigate user flow along with clear iconography, for doctors to feel familiar with the device.
Besides the aesthetic aspect of the device, we also took care of the design engineering. This process consisted of designing the supports that hold all the components in place and optimizing the assembly of the device for production.
We also considered its structural integrity to guarantee the device's resistance and durability, and heating of the internal parts.
Throughout the development process, several prototypes were built. We worked closely with the Gense engineering team to quickly iterate and adapt the internal assemblies to their changes. These prototypes helped us evaluate the shape, material, and assembly as the product moves closer to manufacturing.
